Am founder of Swoozh (Swoozh.com) and co-founder of FAME League (FameLeague.com). Swoozh offers IT consulting & solutions, and focuses on innovative IT applications. FAME League is a social game that leverages on Prediction Markets, and was launched on Facebook in April 2009 as a beta.
Graduated with a Bachelor in Business Management(Finance) and Bachelor of Science(Information Systems Management) in Singapore Management University under a DFS Scholarship. I believe in a bottoms up approach in learning - dirty your hands so you can learn. My main expertise and interest lies in exploiting the power of IT to drive business opportunities and creating values, and I have been involved in such developments since 1999. I first started out as a freelancer at the age of 17 and worked with a major pharmaceutical firm to produce a CRM system which focused on slightly complicated MLM algorithms.
Had my most memorable stints in Johnson and Johnson, DFS Venture and Standard Chartered Bank. I was involved in developing a predictions market (Stock Exchange) system and Asterisk IVR system coupled with Voice Biometrics system,both as a project manager, and streamlining of a global financial work flow involving more than USD$100k monthly. In particular, our mighty team was awarded SGD$12,000 for the voice biometrics project by Standard Chartered in recognition of the top 3 projects in the year. Enjoy working with a multinational team as I believe diversity will promote synergy and creativity, essential in the modern world. I spent six very valuable months in Belgium in 2008/2009, Leuven for an academic semester where I learnt Dutch, European Arts and Capital Investment Poilcy, and it was during this time I backpacked mostly alone to 16 major cities including Budapest, Poznan, Prague, Munich, Berlin, Barcelona and London. I made some very good friends for life and I still miss the experience today.
Am pretty bad as a hobbyist designer, programmer and photographer. I have supported Arsenal FC in the EPL since 1990 after being mesmerized by the charms of Ian Wright and David Seaman, and plays soccer regularly every weekend. Other times, my favorite hangout includes Jazz @ Southbridge for good Jazz music. I am also an amateur salsa dancer who stops learning in intermediate and sometimes visit Union Square to shake it out.
Believe in returning to the society through voluntary work, and actively supports any cause related to helping different beneficiaries. I did counseling training in SMU under university counselor Timothy Hsi’s Peer Helper program, and served as a Peer Helper in school - a “para counselor” to fellow students. Other times, I participate in voluntary activities with other organizations to visit Old Folk’s home, interact with mentally challenged individuals,
